Parent Information
We are registered as providers of education with Torfaen Education Authority and are liable to inspection at least every 4 years by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate. We deliver a comprehensive nursery curriculum based on the new Curriculum for Wales and the Four Purposes. The four purposes are that all children and young people will be:
- Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
- Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
- Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
- Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
The new six Areas of Learning and Experience are:
- Expressive Arts
- Health and Well-being
- Humanities
- Languages, Literacy and Communication
- Mathematics and Numeracy
- Science and Technology
Our planning can be viewed at any time on the display board in our art & craft area. Our curriculum is delivered through the medium of English, we do however teach the children basic Welsh consisting of numbers, greetings, the weather and simple rhymes and poems.

In accordance with current legislation Poppies Day Nursery is registered as a private full day care facility with the Care and social services inspectorate Wales.
